How to Register for an Advanced Cardiac Life Support Refresher Course.

If you’re in the Tampa, Florida area and need to refresh your ACLS Provider Card through the American Heart Association, you will need to register for either an entire in-person class or do Part 1 online followed by an in-person skills check. Be careful of online companies offering complete online certifications and claim to be AHA certified. They are not. The AHA does not recognize any BLS, ACLS or PALS course that is completely online. At the very least, you will always be required to have your skills tested at a training site.

It’s very easy to enroll in an official AHA class by simply choosing the class you want in the calendar above. You can choose to renew your ACLS only by clicking on the red link that says ACLS Renew. Or you can also renew your Basic Life Support (BLS) at the same time by choosing the green link that says ACLS-BLS Renew. Choosing either link will take you to a one page registration page where you will fill out your contact and payment information. We take all major credit cards. Immediately after submitting your information you will be emailed a receipt and confirmation with further course details and Tampa’s training site location.

How Long Does the Class Last?

The length of an ACLS recertification course averages between 6-8 hours. The course also requires that a 50 question written exam is passed with a minimum score of 84%, as well as a final MegaCode skills test. It’s important to note that CPR Tampa focuses on stress-free courses. The instructors are not only trained under AHA guidelines of how to conduct a proper course, but each teacher also is also trained how to provide a relaxed, friendly environment for all students.

This course is taught only by highly experienced emergency professionals that are certified through the AHA. The course will be conducted in a professional manner that is organized, efficient and actually fun! Team participation will also be emphasized. Working together during a code is an essential part of success, and therefore will be discussed and practiced throughout the training.
